WASHINGTON LATIN PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL: 1
The EL Haynes Mountain Lions created a flurry of offensive opportunities against Washington Latin in the opening of conference play on Tuesday, but were unable to push across a tying goal, losing 1-0. Latin converted a goal 10 minutes into the 2nd half, and from there Haynes dominated much of the play. Senior I. Uceda and sophomores H. Carillo and M. Rezene fired shot after shot throughout the end of the half. However, bounced did not go Haynes way and each chance ended up a bit wide, off a cross bar, or in the hands of a strong Latin keeper. Haynes defense was consistently solid throughout the match, led by and outstanding effort from senior J. Lele Pero and backed up by Junior Y. Sipowa and sophomore T. Watson.
