E.L. Haynes clashed against St. Anselm's Abbey in their season opener, delivering an intense soccer showdown. The first half was marked by Haynes' dominance, creating numerous opportunities that unfortunately ended goalless. As the second half unfolded, Haynes continued their offensive drive. Brian Castillo broke the deadlock with a precise shot from the top of the box, assisted by Bladimir Ayala. Responding swiftly, St. Anselm's Abbey managed to equalize, leveling the score. Haynes' relentless pressure paid off when Kevin Alvarenga, the team's sweeper, seized a deflected direct kick and powered in a half volley to secure a 2-1 lead. Capitalizing on the momentum, Bladimir Ayala forced a defensive error, allowing Robert Rodriguez Gomez to extend Haynes' advantage to 3-1. Solid defense, led by Kevin Alvarenga, and supported by Nico Vega Ordonez, Pons Nava Pineda, and Eli Crowley, held strong to protect the lead. In the end, E.L. Haynes
