ELHaynes XC had its first meet this morning at Bullis School in Potomac Maryland. Against a deep field of mostly independent school runners, ELH athletes represented the school well on a very hilly course in difficult, rainy conditions. Here are some highlights:
Brendan E. and Renard J. led the team with times of 19:30 and 19:36 respectively (6:20 mile pace)
Reginald G. dropped 1:30 off his personal best from last year, finishing in 20:30
Khalii W., Corey G., and Maurice JT. completed their first ever 5k races.
Jaqueline M. completed her first ever 5k race and earned the title of EL Haynes' fastest woman
In his first ever 5k race, Dominic C. made up a 30 meter gap over the last 200m to beat a runner from Landon right at the finish line.
