The EL Haynes Mountain Lions earned another draw on the young season as they tied School Without Walls 1-1 at Takoma Recreation yesterday.  In a physical game that saw the issuing of 4 yellow cards, Haynes created a plethora of offensive opportunities but was unable to push across the go ahead goal.  

Haynes scored 20 minutes into the first half as junior midfielder R. Martinez, played a beautiful through ball from midfield up to teammate sophomore M. Rezene.  Rezene took two touches before slipping it by the keeper ar post.  Haynes continued the attack through the half and into the second half, with great chances created by sophomore midfielder B. Gebrie, sophomore forward D. Flores, and sophomore forward J. Argueta.  

The Haynes defense stymied an explosive Walls offense behind the efforts of sophomore defenders H. Carillo, T. Watson, and senior J. Lele Pero.  Sophomore A. Rezene was a presence all over the field on Thursday - marking Walls strongest midfielder while also creating chances on offense.  

Haynes is back in action Saturday in the 3rd place game of the PetworthCup against Roosevelt SHS.
